Winter Luftbilder, Nordsee, Nordfriesland, Amrum, Kniepsand, Südstrand, Wittdün, Winter, Leuchtturm | Die Bauwerkshöhe des Turms beträgt 41,8 Meter, wobei die Spitze eine Höhe von 67,7 Metern erreicht. Die Feuerhöhe, also die Höhe des Lichts über dem mittleren Hochwasser, liegt bei 63 Metern und ist damit eine der höchsten an der deutschen Nordseeküste. Der Turm wurde zwischen 1873 und 1874 erbaut und am 1. Januar 1875 in Betrieb genommen, wodurch er der erste unter preußischer Herrschaft erbaute Leuchtturm an der Westküste Schleswig-Holsteins ist.
